Professional Networking
Recently, after one of my speaking engagements on Driven for Success, I was approached by two women who were trying to get their business off the ground. They had been in business for more than a year and seemed to be struggling very hard to develop a positive cash flow and to make a profit.
After listening to them for about 30 minutes where they told me nearly everything about what was going wrong in their business, I politely interrupted them and asked them a simple question. I asked them, “Who in your Professional Network have you contacted that is ‘most’ likely to help you get more business?” This is a simple enough question. Once again I got the deer-in-the-headlights” look! What do you mean by “professional network?” they asked.

How To Maintain Focus
Each of us has our own way of getting things done. Some of us have the ability to get more things done faster and more efficiently than others. I’m often asked, “Larry, how do you get so much done? How do you stay focused with so much going on in your life and business?” My usual response is that I have people smarter and harder working around me that makes me looks good. But the truth of the matter is that I developed a 3 Step Process for maintaining focus and for knowing exactly what I need to do to achieve whatever I am working on.

What Does It Take To Be Successful?
This is probably the most often asked question that I get. There is not a day that goes by that someone doesn’t ask me what it takes to become successful. I’ve been a student of success principals for more than 30 years. I’ve read hundreds of books on success, talked to countless successful men and women about the topic and what made them successful, and I’ve documented hundreds of “steps” or “things” that I’ve done right in my life. I’ve also documented several hundred more “steps” or “things” that I’ve done wrong in my life. Both have been very useful in helping me achieve the level of success that I had achieved.
I really don’t consider myself successful yet. Mainly because I haven’t reached all the goals that my wife and I have established for ourselves, our family and our businesses. It’s a “work-in-progress” and it will continue to be a “work-in-progress” until the day that I die!
